After going back to WWE television at SummerSlam, Roman Reigns is getting a Universal Champion shot at Payback.
In the main occasion of SummerSlam last night, The Fiend won the Universal Championship from Strowman in a falls count anywhere match. Reigns then made his return, appearing on WWE programming for the very first time considering that March. A contract signing for the match will take place on SmackDown this Friday.
Reigns had been set to challenge Goldberg for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36 previous to pulling out of the event. Strowman rather took Reigns location and won the title from Goldberg.
